The Story Behind Every Sip
Inspired by the coffee and tea culture of Da Lat, shaped by the student journey at UCSD, and crafted into a modern space for connection, comfort, and great drinks.
I grew up in Da Lat, Vietnam — a place known for its cool mountain air, beautiful tea hills, and a coffee culture woven into the rhythm of everyday life. There, coffee and tea were never just drinks. They were ritual. Community. Home.
That early experience shaped everything: how I see quality, how I think about flavor, and the feeling a truly great drink can create in a moment that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
When I came to San Diego to study at UCSD and graduated in 2001, I was building a new life while holding onto the tastes and memories I grew up with.
Like many students far from home, I searched for small things that felt familiar — a bold coffee, a refreshing tea, a place that felt comforting after a long day.
But I couldn't quite find the experience I was looking for. That gap stayed with me. And it planted a seed.
That feeling stayed with me for years.
I kept thinking: what if I could create a place that brought together the quality and soul of Da Lat with the modern energy of San Diego? A place where every drink felt intentional. A place I would have loved to visit when I was a student myself.
That idea — quiet for a long time — eventually became Arteazen.
"I'm no longer the student searching for a taste of home. I'm now the person building a space for others."
— Tony Tran, Founder of Arteazen
Today, being back near the UCSD community means something deeply personal to me.
I'm no longer just the student searching for a taste of home. I'm now the person building a space for others — students, friends, families, and anyone looking for a drink made with genuine care.
Arteazen is more than a shop. It is a full-circle story: from Da Lat, to UCSD, to creating something meaningful for the next generation.
Every drink is crafted with purpose — inspired by my hometown, refined with a premium modern touch, and made for everyday moments that matter.
Where every drink tells a story. Where a journey that began in Da Lat found its way to San Diego — and to you.
